Manufacturing Engineering Technologist
 

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical studies and conduct analysis of existing or proposed operations
  • Develop plans and recommendations for equipment and correct methods of manufacturing including sequence of operations and detailed methodology of complex assemblies and installations, and detailed components
  • Assist with make or buy proposals
  • Recommend corrective actions for areas of responsibility
  • Perform product-ability studies from engineering drawings
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements
  • Make necessary computer inputs and generate data or reports as needed
  • Incorporate Lean Manufacturing methodology into existing and future processes
  • Employ sound project management skills to deliver projects in a timely and complete manner
  • Work on special projects
  • Ensure quality policies are being practiced
  • Make recommendations and implement procedures to improve quality
  • Initiate and maintain accurate daily and weekly activity status based on work output
  • Perform all work in accordance with Health and Safety policies
  • Other related duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Experience with production tooling design and implementation
  • Experience with drawing control
  • Experience with BOM control and maintenance
  • Experience working in an ERP environment
  • Familiarity with aviation manufacturing processes, terms, and support systems
  • Knowledgeable about engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading and shop math
  • Ability to operate computerized equipment such as personal computers, CADAM and CATIA
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts including 5S, JIT, SMED, KanBan, VSM and One-Piece Flow
  • Understanding of Six Sigma or other data-driven decision-making processes

Educational or Academic Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Diploma
