Bookkeeper

JOB SUMMARY

The Bookkeeper is responsible for working closely with all financial areas of the organization to ensure the business is properly supported, along with accountabilities for General Ledger management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Accounting or Bookkeeping position
• Proficient in ERP systems.
• Strong working knowledge Excel required
• Understanding of standard accounting practices

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Full cycle accounting (Bank Rec’s, Accruals, Prepaids, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Intercompany Reconciliation, etc.)
• Financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
• Balance Sheet reconciliations, including sub-ledger to GL recs
• Bi-Weekly Payroll, payroll records
• Prepared all government Filings as required (i.e. HST, WSIB, Garnishes etc)
• Support monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close activities
• Provide insights for management reporting
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of General Ledger for accountable entities is always maintained
• Ad-hoc reports and projects

• Must be detail oriented with aptitude for documentation
• Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
• Ability to take ownership of work, find solutions to issues and ensure timely completion of duties
• The candidate must be able to use tact, discretion and maintain confidentiality
• Looking for a good team-player that can communicate and work well with others
