Job Description
Responsibilities
- Perform technical studies and conduct analysis of existing or proposed operations
- Develop plans and recommendations for equipment and correct methods of manufacturing including sequence of operations and detailed methodology of complex assemblies and installations, and detailed components
- Assist with make or buy proposals
- Generate the paperwork necessary for the manufacturing and assembly of components
- Design and develop new tooling or improve existing tooling to improve manufacturing
- Recommend corrective actions for areas of responsibility
- Investigate and add in the repair proposals for Non-Conformances that occurs during production.
- Perform product-ability studies from engineering drawings
- Employ sound project management skills to deliver projects in a timely and complete manner
- Work on special projects
- Ensure quality policies are being practiced
- Make recommendations and implement procedures to improve quality
- Initiate and maintain accurate daily and weekly activity status based on work output
- Perform all work in accordance with Health and Safety policies
- Other related duties as assigned
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Experience with production tooling design and implementation
- Experience with drawing control
- Experience with BOM control and maintenance
- Experience working in an ERP environment
- Familiarity with aviation manufacturing processes, terms and support systems
- Knowledgeable about engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading and shop math
- Knowledge of CAD software such as CATIA, SOLID EDGE, AUTOCAD
- Knowledge of good machining and fabrication practices is an asset
- Ability to work with there hands and understands how to use basic shop tools.
Educational or Academic Requirements:
- Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent education and experience
