Strategic Sourcing Analyst

We are hiring a Strategic Sourcing Analyst based out of our St. Thomas, ON office location (flexible hybrid work environment). Join our Supply Chain team & let’s build our home together!

• You will lead the sourcing and commercial process for Global and Non-Asia Supply Base Management and new product development initiatives to ensure all sources and products, comply with the Masco’s sourcing and commercial initiatives, LEAN and supply process continuous improvement initiatives and implementations, procurement policies, provide value-for-money, meet business requirements and other related policies. As part of this role, the Strategic Sourcing Analyst works directly with internal stakeholders to define sourcing needs and develop required documents, process and training as well as perform vendor coaching and management activities.

What You Will do!

• Lead product and supplier sourcing strategy through supplier sourcing optimization of risks and leverage.
• Provide one-stop project sourcing solution - OEM, ODM, new technology, innovation for new product development, including workout best timeline, sampling and support cross-functions in vendor communications.
• Good commercial sense on new product and business opportunities, capable initiating to internal Sales and Marketing, and coordinate internal cross-functions from execution to launch.
• Responsible for assigned category performance in terms of total cost, quality and services.
• Sourcing responsibilities include focus on supply health management, price, contract/T&C negotiations, supply sustainability, and preparation of future sourcing challenges for the specific category/business unit.
• Actively role out and identify the cost saving opportunities, work closely with Engineering executing VE, for direct and indirect costs.
• Acts as the contact for internal stakeholders in identifying sourcing needs for new product development and understanding procurement policies, processes, and requirements.
• Participate and manage cross-functional activities include as sourcing lead for assigned category/business unit.
• Manage supplier performance by using supplier score card and performance management tools. Lead the corrective action process meeting with suppliers until actions have been completed.
• Perform new and existing supplier assessments with Corporate Audit teams.
• Ensuring governance and customer specific compliances are core function of supply base. Ensure no risk to product quality, supply and overall liability.
• Understand and analyse market intelligence/ conditions to determine optimal leverage for Masco.
• Establish partnership and strong relationship with internal and external (Suppliers).
• Work closely with overseas counterparts to ensure alignment in sourcing initiatives.
• Travel is required for maintaining close management and relationship with suppliers.

What will you bring?

• 3-5 years relevant working experience in manufacturer, buying office / trading /manufacturing industries.
• Capable to work independently, willing to take ownership, creative and think out of the box mindsets.
• Strong understanding and experience with Total Cost of Ownership.
• Experience on Business and New Product development Sourcing practices and initiations
• Experience on Mechanical and Electrical product and their development, an asset
• Experience and have knowhow using ERP, MRP, Oracle, SAP, an asset
• Come with strong sourcing and business management networks will be considered in priority.
• Thorough understanding of engineering design and manufacturing fundamentals.
• Understanding of new product development, Stage Gate process an asset. 
• Ability to problem solve.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and Smartsheet are required.
• The ideal candidate will have Business Management Certification/Diploma or Engineering degree (mechanical) or 3-5 years of direct strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.  Equivalent combination of education and experience would also be considered.
