Parmerit is also a manufacturer of downstream equipment for companies producing extruded plastic pipe. The Adescor product line is now being engineered and manufactured at Parmerit’s plant in Strathroy, Ontario.

Role Purpose: The Project Manager will lead key client projects, working side by side with our team to deliver projects on time, within scope of work and within budget. The Project Manager will work collaboratively supporting Parmerit values to create a great customer experience. They will be responsible for overseeing project schedules, setting timelines, monitoring major milestones, proactively assisting in creating recovery plans, customer liaising and contract negotiation, and creation of reports for management.

The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope of budget. They will coordinate with all departments to ensure all aspects of the project are compatible or in alignment with the desired solution.

Familiarity with automotive processes, automation, design concepts, practices and procedures will be required.

Reports To: General Manager

This is a key role in our growth strategy and requires the right person with growth potential, motivation to excel, and the right mix of qualifications and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret documentation, specifications and design drawings to help define scope of work for projects
  • Collaborate with operations leaders to develop detailed project plans that are shared with internal stakeholders and customers
  • Lead the kick off process of new orders into operations
  • Monitor, track and measure performance of work in progress projects utilizing appropriate project management tools and techniques until completion
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs, ensuring that projects are delivered meeting customer expectations, on-time and within budget
  • Assist in developing new performance measures utilizing project management best practices
  • Establish, manage and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers and vendors
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in a technical field (mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics, etc.)
  • Previous experience in project management including good understanding of the following (an asset):
  • Machine & Process Design incorporates ergonomics and safety best practices.
  • Machining / Fabricating
  • Quality (print reading)
  • Controls
  • Project Budgeting
  • Previous experience in preparing full cost estimates (an asset)
  • Computer proficiency, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). Experience utilizing quoting software (ex. E2) considered an asset.
