About the job
Dr. Oetker is a state-of-the-art Pizza Production Facility in London, Ontario. With our Head Quarters in Germany, and operations in over 40 countries around the world, we are an international company with deep family roots dating back to 1891. Our London facility which employees about 300 associates was built in 2014 and showcases modern, highly automated, high volume production lines where we produce Ristorante, Casa di Mama and Giuseppe pizzas under the Dr. Oetker label. Our facility is part of the International Pizza Production Unit (PPU) which, in part, identifies projects and efficiencies for execution at plant level.
In our facility, we start with raw materials such as flour and yeast to make a great pizza crust, topping with sauce and ingredients to make a fantastic, finished pizza and then freezing and packaging the pizzas for retail distribution.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees engaged in various areas of the manufacturing process. You will:
- Ensure your team is motivated, capable, well trained and efficient to ensure targets and high standards are achieved.
- Maintain accurate record keeping related to Staff, monitoring of health and safety through PPE checks, hazard awareness and monitoring best practice.
- Monitor quality and efficiency standards, rectifying issues where possible and notifying Line Manager of any issues that need escalating.
- Monitor stock levels, material supply and material utilization using SAP system, if required.
- Inspecting all areas of work on a daily basis identifying any areas requiring specific attention and act accordingly.
- Lead the team by example, making sure all the team follows correct PPE and food safety standards at all times.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
Experience in a unionized and/or food manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
Experience supervising a team of up to 40 employees.
Experience working with SAP or similar systems
Strong knowledge on KPI’s, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Quality, HACCP, Waste Rate and Run Rates.
Sound knowledge in OH&S systems.
Excellent leadership, change management, organization and problem solving skills.
Ability to work rotating shifts- typically 2 weeks days and 2 weeks afternoons
Strong written verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and the leadership team.
