  • Create and maintain variant and program specific Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM) and Bill of Processes (BOPs)
  • Produce and validate accurately detailed Work Instructions to meet Manufacturing and Customer Support process requirements
  • Develop and maintain Oracle routings and standard hour estimates to align with Manufacturing & Customer Support Work Instructions
  • Participate in Design Review meetings to interpret design requirements for processing Work Instructions
  • Execute Appurtenance Change Notices into detailed work instructions
  • Conceptualize, define and request tooling based on Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing and ergonomic requirements
  • Investigate and support the resolution of quality deviations including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Implement all necessary design changes into Manufacturing Engineering products
  • Support initial start-up Production processes including Manufacturing Validation Build (MVB), Production Launch Process (PLP) and First Piece Inspection (FPI)
  • Assess and implement changes identified as part of initial stat-up process
  • Provide consistent, timely and accurate Manufacturing Engineering support to the shop floor
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering and all other key stakeholders on process improvements
  • Monitor process effectiveness and record issues in Maximo database
  Required Qualifications     
  • University Degree or College diploma in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering; or Skilled Trades License with 3+ years equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Technologist for a heavy equipment manufacturer
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined space
  • Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
  Preferred Qualifications     
  • Experience with welding processes, procedures and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of Team Center, Oracle and Maximo
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with shop floor employees in a unionized environment
        Work Environment     1)         Nature of Supervision: Medium (Some Self-directed work)    2)         Work Interruptions and Distractions: medium  3)         Physical Environment: Office and Manufacturing/Shop Floor    Physical Conditions and Hazards:  Computer based desk work is required regularly throughout the day.   Overtime may be required on an as needed basis and may include weekend work.  Production shop floor support employees are responsible for maintaining support for touch labour and as such may spend a significant time in the production environment.  Production shop floor support employees may be exposed to loud noise, dust, weld fume, paint and extreme temperatures.  In addition, Production shop floor support employees may be required to complete various administrative tasks depending on the job function      Physical Demands Description:  This section objectively captures and describes the physical demands that are required to perform a particular job or role. Usually completed by the ergonomist  Usual mobility demands required are standing, walking, sitting, and stair climbing to access upper offices and process work envelopes some stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and crouching may be required at times while assisting workers or accessing low placed items.  Equipment Utilized:  This section describes the type of equipment an employee is required to use  Computer  Mobile device  Medical Surveillance  May include: Inoculations, Respiratory Fit, Audiometric Testing, Designated Substance Surveillance, Vision, Anthropometrical Size Restrictions depending on task  Personal Protective Equipment:  Applicable when interacting with shop floor (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection. extraction coveralls)
