Description

Introduction
 
The Director, Production Planning & Packaging Operations will be responsible for directing the product fulfillment side of Motif’s business, which entails strategic vision for rapid growth, tactical scheduling/planning, and execution of manufacturing operations. Motif produces 150+ skus across several product categories including vapes, infused pre-rolls, tinctures, topicals, powders and diamonds.

Position Overview:
 
·                Direct the scheduling/planning and manufacturing teams to achieve the lowest labour cost basis, minimum required inventory levels, and shortest turnaround time on orders.
·                Lead the strategic growth planning with respect to product fulfillment according to long term forecasts including labour, physical space, and equipment requirements
·                Working with the commercial and logistics/procurement teams, manage the S&OP processes to proactively identify solutions to demand fluctuations and capacity limitations
·                Prioritize high revenue drivers within operations by closely collaborating with counterparts from the commercial team
·                Create hiring plans to ensure dynamic manufacturing capacity while leveraging a temporary worker pool
·                Identify, monitor, and report on key performance indicators for the production planning and packaging departments
·                Report and present production progress, opportunities and challenges to top management; identifying and communicating planning and execution gaps with expediency to allow visibility and strategizing on detailed mitigation plans to address root causes
·                Oversee the development and implementation of dynamic scheduling tools that support accurate and efficient scheduling as Motif grows and increases in complexity, including the implementation of an ERP system
·                Develop and implement a comprehensive management of change process
·                Work closely with other members of the leadership team (Extraction & Refining Operations, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Engineering & Maintenance, Facilities, etc.) to ensure effective communication and collaboration between departments
·                Drive continuous improvement and work process development
·                Foster a culture of safety and quality excellence
·                Other duties as assigned
 
 
Qualifications:
 
·                10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment dealing with a high number of product types
·                Extensive expertise in ERP, scheduling, and S&OP processes
·                Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly; maintain focus and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment
·                Self-motivated and decisive
·                Strategic mindset with high proficiency for problem-solving
·                Excellent time management, highly organized, and detail oriented

WORKING CONDITIONS (ON SITE):

This role is performed on site in either our Aylmer or London, Ontario locations and Motif provides all required PPE and has continued manufacturing safety protocols: a well-fitted mask must be worn while inside our production areas.
