Business Systems Analyst (Hybrid)
 

Analyze specific business problems and opportunities in conjunction with business partners across the organization. Perform cost/benefit analyses and feasibility studies. Participate in project planning. Contribute to business training strategy, planning and delivery. Provide application support and investigation. Develop and implement systems best practices. Identify, recommend and implement practices, standards, tools and processes to improve systems analysis.

This is a hybrid position, meaning 2-3 days onsite and 2-3 days remote per week. Must be in a commutable distance to our site in London, Ontario.

As a member of the Trojan Information Systems team, you will be a part of an innovative, diverse collaborative and dynamic team. We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst that will be responsible for effective application of technology to business challenges and improvement opportunities. This role will report into our Senior Manager, Business Systems and work closely with our business partners and technical teams to deliver high quality systematic solutions.

Accountabilities

Analyze specific business challenges and opportunities

  • Gather, define and document detailed business requirements and alternative solutions
  • Perform cost/benefit analyses and feasibility studies
  • Design and document all system and business impacts of the solutions
  • Define risks and limitations of solutions
  • Recommend and document solutions including impact analysis
  • Develop high-level implementation and conversion plans

 

Participate in project planning

  • Identify all tasks, resource requirements, dependencies and effort
  • Work with the business and project manager to manage change throughout the project

 

Perform system quality assurance

  • Develop test strategy and test plan
  • Support application developers during unit, system, and integration testing
  • Support business users during acceptance testing

 

Develop and implement systems analysis best practices

  • Identify, recommend and implement practices, standards, tools and processes to improve systems analysis
  • Develop training documentation and provide business user training

 

Measures of Performance

  • Meet the Key Performance indicators for quality, on time delivery, innovation and customer support.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in a related discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems), or a combination of training and experience.
  • Business process and system knowledge in various business functions like Finance, Supply Chain, Sales and Service etc.
  • Experience in cost benefit and functional analysis of IT projects for prioritization
  • Experience working in Agile framework with proven planning and organizational skills
  • Hands-on experience in providing production support to business systems is a must

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in implementation/support of business systems like Salesforce or an ERP module will be an asset.
