YOUR DAILY ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Logistics Project Management, you will be responsible for promoting and implementing logistics best practices through a portfolio of improvement projects, in order to increase efficiency at all levels of the chain. You will provide guidance and expertise to identify and manage improvement projects, implementing sustainable solutions that meet safety and quality standards, in order to achieve the organization's performance objectives.

THE ROLE:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and recommend a portfolio of improvement projects that meet or exceed logistical business objectives;
  • Develop action plans and timelines for each project and mobilize accountable stakeholders;
  • Develop and implement dashboards to assess the performance of implemented processes and track performance indicators;
  • Liaise with Regional Logistics Managers regarding project progress, opportunities and potential synergies, and submit recommendations;
  • Identify and implement winning conditions to ensure the success of improvement initiatives with stakeholders (budgets, resources, change management, etc.) in concert with the departments concerned;
  • Organize and facilitate work sessions with stakeholders, using various proven continuous improvement tools adapted to the context (such as Lean, Kanban, 5S, etc.) and ensure documentation and follow-up;
  • Train and develop the internal skills and knowledge of logistics managers in continuous improvement best practices;
  • Meet regularly with key players on site to develop a relationship of trust, an in-depth understanding of operational realities, and to promote a culture of improvement in action;
  • Monitor best logistics practices in the industry, in order to stimulate and enrich the internal performance culture among stakeholders, including management and key operational players;
  • Ensure diligent documentation and follow-up of approval processes (when required) for all projects and/or mandates under its responsibility.

YOUR PROFILE

  • More than 5 years' relevant experience in managing complex projects;
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or other relevant training;
  • Black Belt certification (an asset);
  • Strong communication and mobilization skills and be recognized as a team player;
  • Mastery of continuous improvement principles and tools (LEAN, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, etc.);
  • Demonstrated competence in change management;
  • Strategic thinking, pragmatic and mobilizing approach;
  • Influencing and communication skills at all levels;
  • Rigor, agility and excellent management of time and priorities;
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Ability to work from multiple plants in Ontario (Strathroy, Ingersoll and Tecumseh).
