Job description

· Install, change layout and setting up of machines and heavy equipment.

· Involved in the installing of standard equipment such as lathes, boring mills, etc., under the direction of the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

· Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.

· Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up and repair of machinery.

· Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.

· Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.

· Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.

· Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.

· Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.

· Some 24vdc equipment replacement would be required (i.e. sensors, etc.)

· Perform other duties as required from time to time by your Manager/Supervisor.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

· Industrial Millwright Mechanic trade certification.

· College or Industry courses in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting.

· Inter-provincial trade certification is also a definite asset.

· 3-5 years of work experience in the trade in an industrial setting.

· Previous experience with Kuka or Motoman robots would be an asset

EQUIPMENT AND/OR PRODUCT:

· Various equipment including grinders, mills, lathes, MIG/TIG/ARC welders, robots, stamping.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Manufacturing Environment

· Noise levels exceeding 85dBA

· Unionized environment

Pay: $37.80 per hour + shift premium (afternoon and night shifts)
