What you’ll be doing

We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Solution Architect, reporting to the Director, Information Technology, with a strong focus on software architecture and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in aligning our software architecture with business goals, ensuring scalability and performance, while also contributing to the broader IT strategy.

You will be responsible for

  • Lead the development and implementation of technology solutions architecture, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Own end-to-end solution design, focusing on software systems while maintaining a holistic view of the IT infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and improve internal business strategies and IT processes, with a focus on software development and deployment in a CI/CD environment.
  • Create and implement comprehensive software architecture models to meet the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with IT teams to integrate software solutions with existing IT infrastructure.
  • Provide expertise in software development practices and technologies, including Cloud-native architectures, and DevSecOps, Big Data, and Analytics.
  • Assess new software technologies and their feasibility for integration into the existing IT landscape.
  • Ensure the security, efficiency, and scalability of software systems within the organization.
  • Mentor and guide teams in software architecture best practices and patterns, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

 

 What we need from you

  • Certifications in software architecture frameworks and methodologies are preferred (e.g., TOGAF, SAFe for Architects, Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Familiarity with core Agile events such as Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product owners, testers, and other stakeholders.
  • Advocate for and practice continuous integration, continuous delivery, Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
  • Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel to Canada.

 

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Solution Architect with a strong focus on software architecture.
  • Expertise in modern Agile software development practices, architectures, and technologies.
  • Solid understanding of cloud IT infrastructure components and how they interact with software systems.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of driving technology initiatives.
  • Experience in cloud computing, data management, and emerging technologies.
  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel between CA and USA up to 10% of the time as required.
  • Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel to Canada and USA.
