Role Brief

We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team. As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development of our products, leading a team of skilled engineers, and contributing to the growth and success of our organization. You will be responsible for managing a range of engineering projects, from conceptualization to final product delivery, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and innovation.

Adescor is a North American based, industry-leading supplier of downstream equipment for the corrugated pipe and extruded pipe industry. We design, build, and support a comprehensive line of downstream equipment for extrusion and corrugated pipe production; pipe haul-offs, cut-offs, perforators, filter loaders, spin welders, inner liner trimmers, and coilers. We can design and integrate a complete downstream automation system for your extrusion line that is validated before delivery. Adescor is growing and transforming from an equipment manufacturer, to a solutions provider. We apply our product and automation knowledge to your problem, developing solutions that meet your specific needs. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of design engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Define project timelines, set priorities, and allocate resources efficiently to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Ensure the team are aware of day-to-day targets and responsibilities.
  • Work in collaboration with business development to execute on the product development roadmap
  • Forecast staffing and resource needs in line with company growth.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team in making informed technical decisions, staying up to date with industry best practices and emerging technology.
  • Develop the engineering department's long-term strategy and goals, including developing performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity within the engineering team.
  • Recommend, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and standards to improve all aspects of flow.
  • Encourage and support innovative thinking and problem-solving within the engineering team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback via 1-on-1’s and support the professional development of team members.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, robotics, and control systems (an asset).
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in scheduling and capacity planning within an engineering environment.
