The Cost Accounting Manager will play a key role in monitoring, investigating, and making recommendations on manufacturing performance for the production floor. The incumbent will assist in establishing the cost of new products by liaising with cross functional teams, while working closely with other functional areas such as Supply Chain and Sales for pricing and costing-related analysis and reporting.

Here are some of the different activities you’ll be asked to do:

  • Monitor and report product margins and cost analysis against standards/pricing strategies
  • Work with production leadership to analyze manufacturing variances
  • Weekly reporting of manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Provide analysis and summarize results of manufacturing process changes
  • Deliver monthly customer/product sales margin reports
  • Responsible for inventory monitoring/analysis reports and leading the annual physical inventory count
  • Ensure the accuracy of cost and inventory transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of ROI for new equipment requests
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Prepare monthly financial statement margin variance analysis
  • Prepare pricing/costing sheets for Business Development activities, including quoting
  • Liaise with external auditors, and assist with preparation for audits

If you’ve got:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • CPA designation or near completion
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required, with a strong preference in a Manufacturing environment
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Proficiency in ERP Software (i.e., SAP, Visual, JD Edwards)
  • Vena Solution Software is an asset
  • Business Intelligent Software, Power BI or Tableau an asset
