Document Control – Quality/Project Management Support

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for handling contract documents on projects of various sizes as well as setting up and maintaining project documentation within project filing requirements, including checking the quality of drawings, and documents to be catalogued, and received. The position summary is to be used as a guideline only and may not incorporate all functions of the job.

DUTIES

  • Set up and maintain project documentation within project filing requirements
  • Coordinate (and follow-up) completion of all customer submittal/transmittal requirements, and ensure they are submitted, received, and internally distributed in accordance the contract schedule
  • Maintain a file of all applicable written correspondence for the project to be added to the engineering W/O file upon completion of the project
  • Assist in:
    • Administration (preparation of monthly reports, minutes of meetings, etc.)
    • Co-ordinating customer or 3rd party inspection visits to the factory
  • Receive, archive, scan file and control documentation and reference resources
  • Follow up with all department managers to ensure that Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)/Request For Change (RFC) forms are being completed and signed off in a timely manner
  • Compile and build Manufacturing Record Books (MRB) for all jobs

ATTRIBUTES WE SEEK

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, business, or equivalent training
  • One year of experience or co-op placement in a manufacturing environment
  • Detail-oriented and self-directed in execution of tasks
  • Proven sense of urgency in completing tasks
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and effectively manage assignments
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Technical writing experience an asset
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical components an asset
