Maintenance Technician (Weekend Shift, Fri-Sun)
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems within a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of production equipment while minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate brings exposure to industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and factory automation, along with mechanical aptitude and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Mechanical & General Maintenance
- Inspect and maintain production machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical components including motors, light duty roller conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and related systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
- Support general facility maintenance which may include HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.
Electrical & Control Systems
- Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical systems, including motors, drives, breakers, relays, sensors, and lighting.
- Assist with diagnosing control logic, signal, and performance issues, and support PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, and other industrial automation components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams.
Project Support & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new production equipment and capital projects.
- Support engineering and continuous improvement initiatives by providing technical expertise to optimize processes and equipment performance.
- Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and enhance operational efficiency.
Safety, Documentation & Production Support
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable electrical, mechanical, and industrial codes.
- Identify safety hazards, participate in corrective actions, and promote a safe work environment.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and external service providers to support equipment maintenance and facility activities.
- Respond promptly to equipment issues, prioritize tasks effectively, and support production needs with a customer-focused approach.
- Maintain an active presence on the production floor, monitoring equipment performance, safety risks, and quality concerns.
- Assist with inventory, tracking and restocking of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Document maintenance activities, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks using the CMMS.
- Observe and report recurring equipment issues and support recommendations for long-term improvements.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance Technician, Controls Technician, or in a related manufacturing maintenance role.
- Practical experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent), HMIs, and industrial automation systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical wiring, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and production equipment.
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience with light duty conveyors, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems preferred.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
- Experience with automated equipment.
Education Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school in electricity, controls, or automation preferred.
- Electrical license or certification is a plus.

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
