Software Support Analyst

 

Position Description:

Key Job Elements:

  • Software development for special projects in various computer languages (ex. VBA, C#, SQL)
  • Full lifecycle for software developed by the team from Design to implementation.
  • Action incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues within servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems
  • Prioritize, schedule, and administrate all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level where needed
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams and end users
  • Test fixes / patches and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved Troubleshoot and debug issues with applications/databases
  • Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software applications training programs and run training classes
  • Participate in IT meetings as required to represent their functional area’s interests
  • Release and update drawings and designs into Teamcenter
  • Creating and supporting software tools (databases, etc.) for internal and external customers
  • Provides input for bid development for Advanced Technical Maintenance Products related activities
  • Monitor, and track customer work requests
  • Provides month end status updates on on-going activities
  • Will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to their functional area

 

Position Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in computer programming or in a related field
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years relevant experience
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated strength in writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Able to conduct research into application integration issues and products
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Experience working with teams and/or customers
  • Experience developing end user applications selecting the appropriate language (C#, VBA, etc.)
  • Experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) and Database Design (Data Modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years direct experience in enterprise-level application integration
  • Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systems
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping
  • Experience in Teamcentre and NX
  • Technically fluent in programming languages, including VB .Net, C# and SQL
  • Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc.
