Junior Maintenance Planner

We are looking for a Junior Maintenance Planner to join the team at our window manufacturing facility in London, Ontario.
Job Description
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates corrective, preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance activities with long term focus on increased reliability and production efficiency
- Plan and issue work orders per preventive maintenance schedule
- Track maintenance activities and verify that data from completed work orders is accurately recorded by maintenance staff in our Automated Maintenance Management System (AMMS) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Provide maintenance supervision/support to hourly Maintenance Staff
- Ensure Preventative Maintenance (PM) program standards are developed and maintained with a high level of accuracy, accountability and appropriate follow-up
- Work with cross-functional group of stakeholders (production, quality, materials, order entry) to successfully schedule maintenance activities
- Assist in the development of department standard operating procedures
- Evaluate areas of opportunity to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency
- Support capital projects, new equipment installation, plant maintenance initiatives as needed
- Ensure planned work is completed within budget by a focus on the cost-effective use of parts, materials, and labour
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or installations
- Maintain maintenance stockroom according to 5S principles
- Control and optimize spare parts ordering, stocking, issuing, and inventorying
- Adheres to all plant safety policies, participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, operational excellence, and lean manufacturing programs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in maintenance planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/projects to ensure successful plant operation
- Continuous improvement mindset and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Experience working with vendors, identifying, sourcing machine parts and electrical components.
- Functional skills with Excel, Word, and AutoCAD
