About the Role
- Develop and implement construction and renovation strategies aligned with the company’s strategic plan, managing all aspects of the project, including budget adherence.
- Establish and maintain project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely distribution to all relevant stakeholders.
- Research and propose creative design solutions, investigate new technologies for cost-effectiveness and evaluate post-implementation satisfaction.
- Implement and monitor processes to advance high-performance construction projects.
- Manage tendering processes, Requests for Proposal (RFP), and scopes of work.
- Maintain relationships with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors, managing tendering and contractor selection as needed.
- Ensure site safety, quality control, and compliance with regulations, incorporating standards through contracts.
- Assist in selecting and negotiating subcontracts, reviewing work, and maintaining contract documentation.
- Collaborate with site supervisors or general contractors to coordinate construction phases, ensuring quality standards.
- Attend project meetings and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Participate in ongoing and final project design reviews.
- Establish and monitor project administrative procedures.
- Handle additional tasks as required.
Experience
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in construction and project management, preferably in growth-oriented environments.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline such as engineering, architectural technology, construction technology, or engineering technology.
- In-depth knowledge of residential, multi-residential, and commercial construction across all phases, including renovations, with expertise in relevant software and technologies.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient modelling, evaluating new technologies, and strategic thinking in high-performance construction design and implementation.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, collaborate, and build effective teams.
