Trojan Technologies is looking for a Vice-President, Danaher Business Systems (DBS) who will work with business partners across the entire Trojan Technologies organization to achieve breakthroughs in operational efficiency, commercial growth, productivity and process excellence. This role reports to the President, Trojan Technologies and is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System within the organization, ensuring that all our leaders lead with DBS. The Vice-President, DBS will lead, develop and grow the DBS teams in alignment with Trojan Technologies’ strategic and operational objectives.

 

The Danaher Business System (DBS) is our proven system for achieving success. DBS is a philosophy, set of values, and series of management processes that collectively define who we are and how we do what we do at Danaher. Our DBS tools are designed to help us excel in the areas of Growth Leadership, and Lean, building on a strong foundation of DBS fundamentals (Voice of Customer, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, Problem Solving, and Visual & Daily Management).

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Align DBS effort to drive impact with Policy Deployment and KPI priorities  

  • Facilitate Policy Deployment, which is where Trojan operationalizes its strategic initiatives

  • Build sustainable DBS capability to meet current and emerging needs

  • Lead development of Trojan plan for type and quantity of CP/ACP (Advanced/Certified Practitioners) and CT/ACT (Advanced/Certified Trainers) needed by location to be ''DBS self-sustainable”

  • Lead process to ensure DBS Certification Funnel progress is being met

  • Ensure CP/ACPs productive use of certifications

 

Advance DBS Capability level and ability to deliver impact for Trojan Technologies

  • Using the "DBS Fundamentals Playbook," develop annual Trojan improvement roadmap for DBS Fundamentals Capability with a prioritized Action Plan. Before Budget.

  • Review Action Plan progress during L1 (Leadership) Ops meetings. Lead deployment and sustainment

 

Architect to Drive impact on most critical functional metrics

  • Coach and connect actions to Kaizen & Certification Funnels

  • Coach and work with L1s to ensure consistency in approach

  • Drive 'Productive Tension' with L1s to ensure yearly prioritized progress

 

Build new Trojan capabilities and keep trains running on time

  • Act as Process Steward: hold setup workshops, reflections, etc.

  • Help President develop thoughtful agendas

  • Drive 'Productive Tension' during PD (Policy Deployment) Meetings to encourage appropriate and sustainable use of DBS, ensure ongoing cadence/rigor

  • Facilitate Trojan’s Strategy enablement process to ensure initiatives are funded, resourced and run with process rigor to achieve sustainable results

 

Develop DBS Talent for organization

  • Create DBS Community & build capability through Trojan’s DBSLs

  • Help L1 Leaders improve their DBS Organizational structure and capability

  • Build a strong DBSL funnel and organization through facilitation of talent pipeline reviews and  chess-boarding to support succession planning

  • Encourage cross-functional kaizen experience through DBSL Community

 

Manage and grow the DBS team

  • Manage the team of 4 DBS professionals including hiring, talent development and performance management

  • Identify and develop own successor

  • Facilitate talent review discussions

  • Create the environment of inclusion, high engagement and followership on the team

Qualifications required:

  • BS or BA Degree in Business or equivalent with 10+ years commercial or operations experience

  • 10+ years of people leadership experience with demonstrated success in a global environment

  • Ability to analyze capabilities, identify root cause and growth/lean tool opportunities; has the skills necessary to be seen as credible by peers and managers commercially and operationally

  • Knowledge of key DBS tools: Transactional Process Improvement (TPI)/Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Standard Work, 5S, Voice of Customer (VOC), Customer Segmentation, Funnel Management, Value Selling, Pricing Margin Management (or non-Danaher  equivalents)

  • Proven ability to consistently deliver business results

  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view; effective at structured problem solving and critical thinking

  • Ability to work with functions in the implementation of the DBS roadmap and implement key growth initiatives; successfully drives change, handles conflict / ambiguity

  • Mastery of fundamental DBS or continuous improvement tools

  • Superior skills in communications, training / adult learning, consulting / influencing; teamwork across disciplines, regions, and cultures

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time management and action plan development and execution

  • Computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.)

  • Willingness to travel (including internationally), up to 40% of the time

 

Preferred Capabilities

  • Master’s Degree in Business or equivalent with 10+ years of process improvement and optimization experience with demonstrated success in managing people/projects

  • Knowledge of key DBS growth tools: Transformative Marketing, Voice of Customer (VOC), Customer Segmentation, Demand Generation, Funnel Management, Value Selling, Pricing Margin Management (or non-DHR equivalents)

  • Hands-on experience implementing improvements in a continuous improvement (DBS, Lean Six Sigma, TPS, etc.), line management or consulting role

  • Fluency in a variety of different languages an advantage (e.g., German, Spanish, French, etc)

  • Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training and facilitation environments
