The Senior HR Generalistis a hands-on, on-site internal advisor responsible for leading HR initiatives that drive employee engagement, talent management, performance management, and company culture. This role requires a strategic thinker who can provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and corporate policies.

Responsibilities


  • Partner with supervisors and managers to proactively identify and resolve people-related challenges.
  • Serve as the primary HR support contact for all hourly and salaried employees.
  • Develop and implement action plans that align with short-term and long-term business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and coaching on HR matters, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, CBAs, employment legislation, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and manage various HR programs, including Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, Performance Management, Compensation, Rewards & Recognition, and Organizational Effectiveness.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, probation management, disability case management, and terminations.
  • Facilitate labor and employee relations by supporting communication and coaching managers on performance management strategies.
  • Conduct and support investigations, resolving sensitive employee issues and grievances in collaboration with leadership.
  • Coordinate and lead training initiatives aligned with IMT Precision’s HR strategic plan.
  • Promote employee engagement through surveys, focus groups, and feedback sessions.
  • Champion change management initiatives by developing and executing effective communication strategies.
  • Stay current with HR trends, best practices, and industry benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with Corporate HR to ensure consistency in policies and programs.
  • Perform HR administrative functions, including document filing, meeting coordination, and responding to HR inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in health & safety initiatives, including JHSC involvement.
  • Support WSIB claims management and Early & Safe Return to Work (ESRTW) programs.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports, KPIs, training records, and compliance documentation.
  • Update company communications across multiple platforms, including PowerPoint, digital signage, and internal communication centers.
  • Maintain HR-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure internal alignment with quality management systems.
  • Lead and contribute to HR and business improvement projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.
     
Requirements
 
  • Certified Human Resources professional (CHRL, CHRP, or SHRM) preferred
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) certification an asset.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software (ADP experience preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of labor relations, collective bargaining agreements (CBA), employment legislation, compensation, health & safety regulations, equity laws, benefits, pensions, and employment standards.
  • Professional, approachable demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation while maintaining departmental objectives.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven leadership, motivational, and training capabilities in all HR-related topics.
  • Ability to make sound, timely decisions and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
