Key Job Elements:

  • Perform rework tasks and other general assembly tasks
  • Provide support to other Field Service Representative Mechanics

  • Remove parts from inducted vehicles, repair, clean
 Required Qualifications:
  • College diploma or equivalent Military experience
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years mechanical experience
  • Experience as a Military Electro Optical (EO) Technician - Journeyman Level (QL5) turret maintenance and support of direct and indirect fire weapons systems
  • Familiarity with LAV turret maintenance and processes
  • Proficient communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Experience working with teams and/or customers
  • Able to work in a confined space and perform physical tasks - ie. lifting and climbing
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Canadian Firearms Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (PAL)
           Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous LAV repair and maintenance experience with GDLS-C products or other heavy products
 Physical Conditions and Hazards: The conditions in which an individual or staff works, including but not limited to such things as amenities, physical environmentstress and noise levels, degree of safety or danger, temperature, location. 
  • Nature of Supervision: Medium (Some Self-directed work)
  • Work Interruptions and Distractions: Minimal to medium
  • Physical Environment: manufacturing/shop floor, some office
  • Hazards: Heavy machinery including but not limited to fork trucks and cranes, noise, dust, paint, temperature fluctuations, hand tools
 Physical Demands Description: Typical postures may include standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, crouching, bending, lying down and reaching at working heights ranging from below floor level to overhead. Tasks required on the interior of the vehicle will require working in a vertical space of 105 to 135 cm and may involve sitting, crawling, crouching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling and/or lying down to access some areas, as some tasks require working in areas with space constraints. The worker may also be required to lay on a creeper to complete work under the vehicle. Vertical clearance under the vehicle is approximately 65 cm.Sustainment ship floor employees are required to climb on/off vehicles, which may include climbing through roof hatches, rear openings, and/or the driver’s hatch.
