Job Description
Aircraft Assembler
As an Aircraft Assembler you will be responsible to perform mechanical assembly and installation of components and assemblies while assuring quality conformance to engineering drawings, company and customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
> Assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts to aircraft
> Assemble and fit prefabricated parts to form subassemblies, working at benches or directly on an aircraft structure
> Inspect aircraft assemblies, using measuring and testing equipment, for adherence to engineering specifications
> Read and interpret aircraft assembly diagrams
> Inspect assemblies for alignment, symmetry, dimensions, fit and quality of workmanship
> Complete detailed inspection documentation
> Ensure safe work practices are followed including wearing all proper PPE as required
> Maintain housekeeping practices throughout shift and perform proper end of shift cleaning
> Report for shift on time
> Ensure proper care is taken of all equipment and tools
> Report any shortages or defects to Team Leader/Supervisor
> Ensure work is performed in a timely manner according schedule
> Perform all work in accordance with Health and Safety policies > Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills & Experience:
> High school diploma or equivalent
> Minimum 1-year experience in a related position
> Aviation experience considered an asset
> Possess basic measuring and calculating skills
> Possess excellent manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
> Ability to read and interpret blueprints
> Excellent attention to detail
> Ability to work independently and as part of a team
> Possess persistence to plug steadily at routine work
