Position Summary

This position provides instruction, guidance and leadership to employees by assisting in solving day to day problems, utilizing all available resources along with the Magna Employee Charter while implementing the policies and procedures of the company.

Recommended Qualifications

? Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
? Minimum 1 year of Industrial Manufacturing and/or Leadership experience.
? Certificate of Qualification in a recognized trade.

Benefits

Wage: $38.92 CAD per hour

Shift: Rotating every 2 weeks between days, afternoons and nights

Overtime after 40 hours per week.

Shift premiums of $0.75/hour (afternoons) and $1.25/hour (nights)

Vacation: 2 weeks of paid vacation (3 weeks after 3 years) + 3 Personal Paid Holidays (PPH) + 2 half days.

Duties and Responsibilities

? Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Formet Expectations and Formet’s Visions/Values through Magna’s Employee Charter.
? Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Formet rules and regulations.
? Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
? Supervise employees in accordance with the principles of the Employee Charter and the policies and procedures set out in the Formet Handbook

? Schedules, co-ordinates and provides direction for technical employees to ensure that
production levels and quality standards are met and that company safety and non-safety rules
are met.
? Train Team Members on the specific job hazards.
? Facilitate Accident and Incident Investigations and have out in 24 hours.
? Audit daily and monthly inspection sheets.
? Findings from safety walk posted, actions followed up on, support safety representative and
team members.
? Address all safety concerns in a timely manner.
? Audit LPA’s as needed.
? Ensure TWI training 100% accurate and audit effectiveness.
? Escalate quality issues.
? Support root cause offloads/rejects, contain problem at all times.
? Always display a sense of urgency.
? Initiate T.A./TPMR process when necessary.
? Cross train team members to maximize flexibility and coverage to accommodate vacations
and absences.
? Encourage team involvement in solving problems causing interruption to processes resulting
in lost time or opportunities.
? Must be able to operate and maintain all machinery and equipment in his/her assigned area of
responsibility and possess a solid understanding and knowledge of the work to be performed
by the department.
? T1s start on time – attendance 100% - green first hour.
? All Team Members at their work stations by 5 minutes after start of shift.
? Follow production schedule.
? Monitor cycle times always – Rhythm Analysis.
? Structured relief and breaks.
? Ensure 5S standards are known and being met.
? Manpower utilization during downtime – assign tasks accordingly.
? Drive improvement projects.
? Complete payroll, vacation, and overtime scheduling for your team.
? Direct involvement in weekend planning/shutdown.
? Establish and maintain effective communications/interaction with all other Departments,
including but not limited to production, engineering, quality assurance, HR and material
control support groups in order to achieve established targets.
? Encourage Team Member involvement when implementing action plans when dealing with
unsatisfactory employees/ performance feedbacks.
? On time for pass off and prepared with required information, attend production pass off
meetings.
? Coordinate escalation procedure with production leadership.

? Breakdown report updated upon recovery.
? Develop Team Members through coaching and mentoring.
? Line sides complete by month end 100% - follow up to complete tasks and get back to the Team each month – escalate any tasks not complete.
? Lead by example.
? T1 board up to date all sections filled in with appropriate colour.
? Adhere to performance review schedule and ensure 100% completion each month.
? Address Team Member concerns/utilize resources groups as needed.
? Manage Team Member attendance and escalate as necessary
? Perform other duties as designated.

Working Conditions

? Office and Manufacturing Environments
? Able to work shift work.
? Able to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)

Safety and Housekeeping

? Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the O.H.S.A.
? Follow and ensure the company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
? Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to Formet’s safety rules and regulations.
? Active role in maintaining excellent housekeeping through leading by example.
? Ensure that your department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times.
? As with Safety, Security is everyone’s responsibility and Formet requires its employees to contribute to this activity by immediately notifying your supervisor when you identify security issues that affect the integrity of our supply chain, in accordance with PIP (Partners in Protection) and C-TPAT (Customs – Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) requirements.
