The Opportunity

We are recruiting an Intermediate Buyer to help facilitate the ongoing and rapid growth at SLEEGERS.  This person will be responsible for supply planning, purchasing, expediting, handling warrantee material, coordinating shipping from and to suppliers, and cooperating with the Supply Chain Leader to maintain a stead flow of material to satisfy our production needs.

SLEEGERS is based on LEAN manufacturing operations which requires just-on-time material delivery.  Supply planning is a crucial factor for success and the buyer is responsible for:

·         Placing purchase orders on time and as planned.

·         Expediting suppliers on a regular basis to make sure that material is delivered on time and as planned.

·         Qualifying new suppliers and adding them to the approved vendor list.

·         Performing bid process and capable of developing bid packages and evaluation criteria with the stakeholders team.

·         Arranging and coordinating shipping from and to suppliers, including shipping documents preparation.

·         Handling suppliers warranty / non-conformity material and closing out the related NCRs on an expedited basis.

·         Resolving any discrepancies during the material receiving stage.

·         Resolving any supplier’s invoices discrepancies.

The Ideal Candidate

·         5 years experience in Supply Planning / Purchasing / Expediting / Shipping arrangement from and to suppliers / Handling warrantee material / Managing inventory cycle counts.

·         Bachelor’s degree (Commerce, Finance, Operations Management, Business Analysis, Mathematics, Statistics) is considered an asset.

·         Experience with manufacturing inventory flows and management.

·         Computer literate including proficiency with ERPs and Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.

·         Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills.

·         Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.

·         Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.

·         Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced, growing environment.

·         Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact comfortably with a wide range of individuals in the organization from executives to support staff, within and outside of the company.
