Job Description

Certified Electrician 

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Certified Electrician will plan, lay-out, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures.

Description

  • Promote a Health and Safety, Food Safety, and GMP culture.

  • A focus on a Lean Culture that promotes performance by analyzing data to reduce waste, inefficiencies, while improving working conditions.

  • Liaise with the leadership team to provide best practices, analyze data, and report uptime/downtime impact.  

  • Plan, lay-out, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures.

  • Ensure work is in accordance with relevant codes and specifications.

  • Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment.

  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with codes and specifications.

  • Advise management on hazardous continued operation of equipment.

  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.

  • Ensure immediate corrective action is taken on all breakdowns to ensure customer expectations and demands are met.

  • Seek continuous improvement by ensuring regular inspections, hazard analysis, risk assessments are completed.  

  • Foster positive relationships with external vendors, regulatory bodies, and employees 

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of SOPs, forms, policies, and procedures.

  • You will monitor Aspire’s Maintenance program and provide recommendations, mentor, and advise on required changes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

During the start-up phase, you will be responsible for additional duties, including but not limited to:

  • Software training (PLC, HMI, VFD, etc.)

  • Training with vendors

  • Assist with set-up of PM program

  • Assist with creation of spare parts inventory

  • Build CMMS system

  • Create WI's, SOP's, HWP, CS, OPL's, etc.

  • Set-up of workshop and maintenance working areas


Requirements 

  • You have 3-5 years experience as a Licensed Electrician 309A or 442A; Food manufacturing is considered an asset.

  • Experience working with Allan Bradley PLC's, drives, RSview, etc. and Fanuc robotics is considered an asset.

  • Willing to be trained in different levels of Lean manufacturing. 

  • You have a strong customer service focus, both internal and external.

  • You have a strong attention to detail,  and clear communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Able to work within a team with strong interpersonal skills to include leadership and collaborative influence skills. 

  • Ability to work in a team/independently in a busy environment.

  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.

  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.

  • If required, you can work outside of your normal work schedule. 24/7 availability is required.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.

  • May require some travel, driver’s license is required

  • You can stand for long periods of time, use a respirator, bend, twist, kneel, and work in extreme cold when required.

  • You are able to work 12hr continental shifts including day and night shifts.
