Dessert Holdings is a leading baked goods platform providing premium layer cakes, cheesecakes, brownies, bars, and other desserts to the retail in-store bakery ("ISB") and foodservice channels on a largely private label basis. Founded in 1976, The Original Cakerie has an exceptionally strong presence across North America as a premium dessert manufacturer. We operate two Double A, BRC certified state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and are looking for a Millwright as we work on our London plant expansion and to expand our Maintenance Team.

What You Will Do

  • Willing to obtain an Ammonia Refrigeration ‘B’ Operator License through in-house training.
  • Provide mechanical expertise to maintain the process equipment and surrounding infrastructure.
  • Have strong mechanical troubleshooting ability to identify root cause failure.
  • Have good understanding of the function of electrical components (Different types of switches).
  • Be proficient with fabrication, tig welding being an asset.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and work order tasks as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Support operations, with a strong focus on internal customer service.
  • Have strong communication to effectively interact with other departments to ensure a high level of plant performance.
  • Complete maintenance reports and logs as required.
  • Adherence to all safety & quality policies and procedures.
  • Work collectively in a team environment on all maintenance matters.
  • Have great attention to detail with a ‘no quit’ attitude.
  • Be able to work continental shifts.
  • Have and maintain the ability to lift up to 50lbs. and be able to climb stairs & ladders.
Experience & Education
  • Industrial or Construction Maintenance Millwright License (required)
  • Having a Electrician License or Refrigeration B-Operator License is an asset.
  • Experience in a Food Industry Maintenance Department is an asset.
  • Good Electrical knowledge is an asset.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and GMP is an asset.
  • Very strong organizational and work management skills
  • Be highly self-motivated and results oriented
  • Display a high level of urgency in responding to opportunities
  • Strong communication and change management skills
  • Able to thrive in a team environment working towards shared goals collectively in a team environment on all maintenance matters.
Shifts: 12 Hours Continental shift - Rotating Shift Schedule (AM & PM Shifts)

What We Offer

Competitive Wages
  • $37.940/hr Tech II
Shift Premium
  • $0.70 cents per hour for all hours worked between 7:00pm-5:00am.
  • $0.70 cents per hour for hours worked between 5:00am-7:00pm Sat and Sun
