About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and experienced Video Applications Developer who's interested in working on cutting-edge technologies to join our team in London, Ontario on a full-time basis.

Working with a highly motivated team you will use your technical expertise to assist in the development of processes, procedures, and policies for electronics and software resiliency in automotive applications.

Your duties will also include:

  • Definition of software architectures based on analyzed requirements, which includes evaluation, selection and integration of all necessary technical components
  • Ability to bridge across multiple disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical and Software) to make appropriate system-level design trade-offs
  • Implement proof of concept systems on prototype vehicles
  • Collaboration with UX team to create intuitive and immersive video overlays

Position Requirements:

In order to qualify for this role, you will have a post-secondary education in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field along with 3 - 5 years experience.  Our ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • University Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,      Computer Science or similar discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in video capture, processing, and distribution
  • Experience integrating with data from CAN, USB, RS-485, or Ethernet Networks
  • Strong understanding of C and C++
  • Experience with OpenGL, OpenCV, OpenCL, CUDA, Qt
  • Experience with both analog and digital video formats
  • Experience designing with physical camera parameters and camera modelling
  • Experience with Git or similar version control software
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space
  • Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
  • Must be able to work in Canada and to obtain CGP (Controlled Goods Program) clearance and be eligible for access to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) controlled data/hardware. The incumbent must have or be able to obtain and maintain Secret Level clearance
  • Experience with C4ISR video and Situational Awareness systems
  • Experience working with DRI (Detection, Recognition, Identification) requirements
  • Design experience with DEF STAN 00-82
  • Experience with low latency video
  • Familiarity with many video formats (H.265, RS-170, DVI, VGA, SDI)
  • Experience working the full life cycle of a project from bidding and requirements definition, through design, build, qualification and support of fielded products.
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM software practices
  • Experience with industry and military standards relevant to military vehicle design
  • P. Eng or eligibility for P. Eng status
