Position Summary

Duties to include attending meetings involving new programs and projects to report on and resolve Materials issues related to material flow, packaging and equipment, line side delivery, shipping and receiving.  Implements Company and departmental policies through systems and procedure creation and follow up.


Duties and Responsibilities

Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Formet Expectations and Formet’s Visions/Values through Magna’s Employee Charter.

Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Formet rules and regulations.

Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.

Capable of leading, directing, coaching and motivating Team Members to reach goals.

Work with all facets within Formet to build the Formet Team environment. Working with all areas such as production, quality, engineering and maintenance.

Professionally conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with being a positive role model.

Review and report on program / project specific requests.

Responsible and accountable for meeting Formet and Department targets and objectives.

Be involved in recommending appropriate Material Handling and storage equipment.

Investigate new material handling systems and support implementation of system.

Be involved in updating and maintaining workload calculations.

Educate teams and leadership in lean material handling methods.

Effectively consult with Team Members regarding new programs and projects.

Assist in restructuring storage locations, plant modifications and line staging requirements.

Develop and update storage layouts and material flow using AutoCAD.

Effectively hold and coordinate meetings to help communicate information throughout the group.

Attend and participate in Team, Department and any other meetings required.

Establish, monitor and control timeline planning.

Must be capable of handling projects from inception to completion.

Prepare presentations for teams and leadership.

Prepare cycle-time analysis and/or time studies, to facilitate material flow exercises.

Prepare reports, charts and other documentation required for projects.

Coordinate and assist in activities for successful attainment of project milestones.

Work in a safe, organized, effective, efficient and proactive manner.

Maintain material flow diagrams.

Support Value stream mapping exercises.

Maintain PFEP.

Support MAFACT activities / presentation.

Perform other duties as designated.


Recommended Qualifications

Engineering Degree/Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable work related experience.

Must have 3 years of troubleshooting, repairing, and improving systems.
