Sanitation Supervisor 

 

Dessert Holdings® is North America's premium dessert company, recognized for providing our retail and foodservice customers with chef-inspired innovative desserts made with real ingredients. Based in St. Paul, Minnesota, Dessert Holdings is an umbrella organization of three premium dessert companies and brands: The Original Cakerie (TOC), Lawler's Desserts, and Atlanta Cheesecake Company. 

 

Our London, Ontario location currently has an opening for a Sanitation Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and gain experience with The Original Cakerie. The supervisor ensures that production meets or exceeds efficiency and quality standards. It is also their responsibility to ensure that processes conform to the GMP standards and BRC regulations.

 

Duties will include (This is meant to be an outline, not an exhaustive list of responsibilities):

·        Lead and direct a small team of approximately 30 staff in Setup and Sanitation

·        Co-ordinates with all staff, contractors and suppliers to properly control, minimize costs while maintaining high Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards to keep in operation at all times.

·        Monitors results and facilitates timely and effective response.

·        Regularly review and revise plans for GMP, facility maintenance, plant environmental protection, product process set up scheduling for production & testing, department scheduling and training.

·        Aligns self and staff with the department missions, production team, product (strategy) quality and to the core values of The Original Cakerie.

·        Provides training to all staff in both departments to achieve their goals.

·        Instructs and ensures compliance of plant employees, outside contractors and visitors in rules and regulations governing Good Manufacturing Practices and BRC procedure and standards.

·        Provide assistance with new product testing when requested by production & PDI.

·        Sets a good example with a positive attitude, good listening skills, and a tireless work ethic.

·        Build a reputable and respectful relationship with employees

 

Qualifications:

·        Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role

-        Previous sanitation experience gained in a food manufacturing environment

·        Flexibility to work a mix of shifts in a 24/7 operation

·        Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development

·        Mechanical aptitude

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·        Strong ability to analyze and solve problems

·        Excellent organizational and time management skills

·        Strong ability to provide positive and constructive feedback

·        Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

·        Self-managed, organized, and have a keen eye for detail

·        Intermediate computer skills using MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
