Entry Level Human Resources Assistant

Description

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative support in a wide range of human resource functions such as compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management and wellness programs, training and development, staffing and recruitment-associated tasks, health and safety, and HR file management.

Requirements

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department and Leader
  • Complete initial review and qualification of all resumes for active postings, perform phone screens, coordinate the scheduling of interviews and complete reference checks for selected candidates
  • Work with the Marketing Department to create regular social media posts to promote BOS as an employer
  • Department filing as well as the ongoing maintenance and organization of all HR and employee files
  • Facilitate and maintain H&S, monthly walk around schedules, quarterly meetings, head JHSC, training
  • Assist HR Department with team member engagement activities including but not limited to; completion of daily break time posts, ensuring HR/H&S boards remain up to date and assisting with the organization and execution of company events
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding Company policies and procedures
  • Provide assistance to employees for administrative requests
  • Compile and maintain records/reports related to all HR activities
  • Assist with performance review preparation and distribution
  • Track performance review completion
  • Maintain and update all data in HRIS systems
  • Assist in the onboarding of new employees and offboarding of employees departing
  • Complete updates to company policies and procedures as directed
  • Provide support to training programs as required
  • Identify and notify HR Manager of workplace issues
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties

REQUIREMENTS

  • University or College Diploma in Human Resources (New graduates are encouraged to apply)
  • 1-2 years of previous Human Resources experience is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft office, Word, Excel
  • Proficient in recruitment processes and social media marketing
