The Opportunity

We are recruiting a quality-conscious and detail-oriented Tack Welder/Fitter to grow with us at SLEEGERS. The successful candidate will join our Production Team on our ASME weld and fabrication line. Your core responsibilities will include: 

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes and procedures
  • Laying out, positioning, and aligning parts and assemblies prior to welding
  • Tack welding metal parts together and forwarding to the Finish Welders for completion
  • Ensuring first-off and last-off inspection processes are followed, and quality is maintained throughout the production run
  • Accurately and routinely completing station inspection sheets and operational checklists

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Is self-motivated, dependable, and seeking career longevity
  • Has the ability to understand, and a willingness to learn, basic weld principles and concepts 
  • Can effectively work with material thicknesses ranging from ?” to ¼”
  • Previous MIG welding experience is considered an asset
