Job Description
Technical Writer
Job Summary:
This position requires an adept writer to prepare, review, revise and maintain technical publications including aircraft flight manuals, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and parts catalogue. The selected candidate will analyse and collect technical data and product information from various sources to prepare new or revised technical publications.
Responsibilities
- Produce, review, and revise technical publications for aeronautical products
- Develop and maintain internal technical publication standards related to format and presentation
- Coordinate the change process for all technical publications
- Liaise with Engineering and Customer Support to ensure all technical publications meet the requirements.
- Coordination with offsite contractors as required
- Perform all work in accordance with Health and Safety policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical writing and publishing.
- Aircraft Maintenance experience or direct experience in the development of aircraft Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings and documentation
- Working knowledge of the following technical writing standards:
- ATA Spec 100, iSpec 2200
- SD2000D (or equivalent)
- AMTOSS (Aircraft Maintenance and Task Oriented Support System)
- Proficient in the use of the following technical writing and publishing tools:
- Microsoft Office Applications
- Word Perfect
- FrameMaker
- Simplicio
- Altova XML Spy
- Web based publication
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be highly adaptable to effectively deal with changes
- Must strive to achieve a high level of quality and productivity
ADDITIONAL ASSETS:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering considered an asset
- Pilot license considered an asset

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
