Position Summary

This position is an exciting opportunity for a research and development subject matter expert, in the area of epitaxy and semiconductor manufacturing, to joing our collaborative team at Trojan in the development of UVC LED water treatment systems! Full remote work possible with occasional site visits.

 

Accountabilities

  • Stay current with the state of the art UVC LED manufacturers
  • Assess and report on manufacturer technologies and future roadmaps
  • Guiding internal LED verification program advising on test methods/reviewing test data
  • Support multiple design teams by providing relevant technical knowledge
  • Understand the implication of patents within the UVC LED IP space
  • Contribute to the growth of the team, help junior / younger engineers learn required knowledge and experience through project work

Qualifications required:

  • Ph.D. or MS in Materials Science, Physics, or Engineering with 10+ years in the semiconductor industry
  • Deep understanding of:
  • LED structure and semiconductor physics
  • Epitaxy growth and MOCVD machines
  • Process of LED chip manufacturing
  • LED encapsulation methods
  • LED Quality control and related test methods
  • Strong background in radiometry, specifically UVC light sources

 

Experience with any of the following an asset:

  • Experience with design sprints, FMEA, risk analysis, validation testing.
  • Optical measurement and design
  • Materials degradation testing
  • Familiar with Microbiology
